ALL ABOUT WWW: How do I select information that is relevant and accurate?

          Conducting research is crucial because not all information is credible and correct. When conducting research, I ensure that I use a reliable source by checking the author's background and verifying the author's qualifications and competence in the subject. I avoided certain types of websites that can be manipulated and altered by anyone. The references and citations of my source are also my guide to ensure that I am utilizing legitimate sources.  I prioritize information from reputable and authoritative sources, such as well-known news organizations, academic institutions, and official websites. 

      Moreover, as all of us know, the development of the internet is evolving, so we must be getting information from current sources. The more recent the information, the more updated it is from the upgraded version of the internet. I also use the method of cross-verification, wherein I double-check the information I have and verify it from other sources to ensure it is aligned. My instructor thought of this way of researching during senior high school in our research class, and this learning has a significant impact on our lives as students because, as we all know, some information is misleading without us noticing it, so fact-checking is crucial and necessary. 


        Getting information online or through the use of different websites seems easy; however, most of us do not know that the goal is not about getting information but rather about making sure that the information we use is credible and reliable. The word “marites” is popular nowadays because most people tend to share information from not-so-reliable sources, and it causes fake news that could ruin someone’s reputation. Therefore, all I can say is that knowing the author of the source, fact-checking it, and ensuring that it is recent is the best way for us to ensure that we are selecting relevant information because, without doing this, we might be just sharing “chismis” without a valid conclusion.
